Almost there!

Yesterday we went to Mt Rushmore! We wore some swag that Nick's aunt made us. We're gross, I know. (They even have our names on the back. We are officially that couple.)

Then we were still about 1,200 miles from Portland (yikes!) so we tried to make up for lost time by driving super late last night (I drove 480 miles after dinner!) By the time we pulled over, Nick just parked us at a rest stop to get some shut eye. We woke up to this:

See that little blue sign not 25 yards away? Yeah, that was for a national park whose entrance was literally in the same parking lot where we stopped. Face palm. Lesson: don't drive until 3 in the morning.

Just a few more hours to go. We made a stop at a Camping World (we're members. It's kind of a big deal.) and made our first official dump of our tanks. It was successful and minimally gross! Huzzah! We're official RVers!

After a quick google search, I found a sweet little farm to park on Sauvie Island north of Portland for the night. Then it's beers with my friend Zech and his new lady love. Tomorrow it's the vet for the doggies, setting up a PO box and probably 20 other things I haven't thought of yet. Thursday we drop Harvey off to be stored while we're away (just $65 dollars for the month!) and Friday morning we're off to Alaska! I think it is safe to say that our adventure has only just begun.
